Holistic Well-Being: The New Priority for Hotels
In 2025, well-being has become a real decision-making factor for travelers. It’s no longer just about having a spa or a gym; hotels are now focusing on a holistic approach that includes both physical and mental wellness.
Guests are looking for stays that help them recenter themselves: better sleep quality, healthy food, moments of digital detox, and outdoor activities. To meet this growing demand, hotel groups are getting creative. Accor, for example, is developing wellness stays with personalized treatments, meditation retreats, and functional drinks made with collagen or plant-based ingredients.
Internationally, some luxury brands are going even further: health check-ups, longevity programs, DNA tests, personalized nutrition... Wellness is becoming almost medical, with services that resemble those of a high-end health clinic.
Another key aspect: sustainability. Wellness often goes hand in hand with a more eco-conscious lifestyle. Hotels are highlighting natural materials, local or vegetarian menus, green spaces, and nature-based retreats. In France, the “Clef Verte” (Green Key) label, which certifies eco-friendly accommodations, is booming.
In 2025, France has 2,428 Green Key award recipients. The Île-de-France region leads the way, with 438 certified establishments, representing an 82% increase in just one year. Nationwide, the number has tripled over the past three years.
